Chorus Aviation Inc. welcomes Karen Cramm, FCA to its Board of Directors

HALIFAX, Jan. 6 /CNW/ – Mr. Richard McCoy, Chairman of Chorus Aviation Inc. ("Chorus") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Karen Cramm, FCA to the Board of Directors of Chorus effective January 1, 2011.

"For over thirty years, Mrs. Cramm has served as a senior advisor to financial institutions and to companies providing advice with respect to financial and corporate restructuring and investigative and forensic matters," stated Mr. McCoy. "We're very fortunate to bring this caliber of expertise to Chorus and I look forward to working with her."

Mrs. Karen Cramm, FCA, Biography

 

A Chartered Accountant, Mrs. Cramm holds master's degrees in business administration (MBA) and in public administration (MPA). In the Uniform Final Examination for the chartered accountancy designation, Mrs. Cramm placed on the honor roll of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, being one of the top twenty candidates in Canada.

Mrs. Cramm was a Partner of Deloitte & Touche ("Deloitte") for twenty-seven years retiring from the firm on August 31, 2009. While an active Partner of Deloitte, she practiced in the Financial Services Group with a focus on Reorganization Services and Forensic & Dispute Services and held two specialist designations: one in insolvency and restructuring (CA CIRP) and the other in investigative and forensic accounting (CA IFA). She was also licensed as a Trustee in Bankruptcy.

Mrs. Cramm has served as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia and was elected as a Fellow of that Institute (FCA) on December 6, 1991 in recognition of distinguished service to the profession.

From September 1, 1993 to August 31, 1999, Mrs. Cramm served as the Managing Partner of the Deloitte Halifax Office. She was elected to the Canadian Deloitte Board of Directors for fourteen years and during that time she chaired and served on various committees of the Deloitte Board. Until recently, Mrs. Cramm chaired the Deloitte Foundation, a registered charity focusing on corporate responsibility and giving back to communities across Canada. She has also had extensive experience leading and serving on community-based, non-profit boards including Chair of the Boards of the Izaak Walton Killam Hospital and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and serving on the Boards and Executive of both Dalhousie University and Mount Saint Vincent University
